WHY ELEMENTA

Named for Euclid's Elements.

The Elements (Greek Stoicheia, Latin Elementa) — Euclid's masterwork, written around 300 B.C. — built geometry and number theory systematically, from first principles. It is the summit of ancient mathematics and the foundation of everything that followed.

Its influence reached even the modern era: the intellectual rigor of the work and its fundamental importance to science are acknowledged by leading scientists of our time.

Translated into nearly every language, by the number of editions the Elements is without equal among secular books. We chose the name for that reason: law, done properly, is a system built from first principles.

Χάριτας · Perceptum · Ratio

"The whole is greater than the part; things which coincide with one another are equal to one another."

— Euclid, Elements, axiomatic method applied to the practice of law.
